A Green English Carnival

The Secondary English Department canopied ‘A Green English Carnival’ on 24th April 2016 in conjunction with Free Day#2 celebrations themed ‘Earth Day’.

It was a golden opportunity providing various platforms for students to enhance their budding talents through entertaining and educative performances and thereby to ensure the competency, confidence and communication skills.

The climax of the day was the grand finale of the month long intense competitions organized by English Department; there were Debate final, Oratory Contest and Spelling-bee challenge themed about the environment were held with six final contestants in each category who displayed passion and determination in their attempts. The crowd cheered wildly for the debate competition, entitled “Overpopulation is spoiling the environment”. The proposition team had accomplished victory in the end stating that the World Population is the biggest contributing factor to the environmental problems.

Lastly, a musical Symphony starring the ‘Voices of will’ had been showcased in front of the audience. The musical glory had brought a moving and powerful message to the crowd; they had motioned their expressions and delivery through movements and gestures. The spectators were inspired by their enthralling enactment especially by their final message that ‘Life is Beautiful.’ Thereafer, a spectacular awarding ceremony was presided by the Principal, Cg. Gazala Abdullah to honour the jubilant winners.
