Asia Mathematics Engineering Challenge, Singapore 2016

The School participated and won 2nd runner up in the recently concluded ASIA MATHEMATICS ENGINEERING CHALLENGE at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The team comprised of Abraham Ming Moncherry (8A), Ethan Cheam Kai Jun(8A), Nur Khairin Bte Hj Md Soffian(8B), Rhalf Rhoel Camaclang Rutor(7A) and Francis Neil Lumanog Linezo(8A). The team was led and guided by Teacher Jaymar.

AMEC is an exciting 5-day competition organized annually by Youth Ambassadors. The students were given an Arduino kit and trained by Nullspace in using different codes to program their Robots. The challenge was to program the robots to complete two given challenges at the fastest time.


The 5-day competition also included Amazing Race and a Project Presentation on “How to save the Earth?” The students were then grouped with the other delegates from different countries. Abraham and his team were able to finish second on the Amazing Race and Nur Khairin and her team won silver for the Project Presentation.

The other countries who participated are Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. There are a total of 25 teams who competed in the Engineering Challenge.
