Wearing gloves and bonnets, they were all set to face the cold outside. In the classroom, there was even “snow”.
The children were able to discuss its properties in terms of color, texture, and temperature. Some even attempted to mould snow balls! A “camp fire” was lit for toasting marshmallows with friends. A mattress, a pillow, and a blanket were all they needed for the camping so when everyone had finished their smores, everyone retired to bed. The children felt very grown up and independent during their first camping experience.
