The Ministry’s programme aimed to promote the different culture of ASEAN countries.
Seri Mulia Sarjana School, as one of the recipients of the programme, welcomed visitors from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and five musicians from Singapore, who shared their expertise in playing traditional musical instruments. The event was held on 25th August 2016 at SMSS Primary Section waiting area.
Instruments such as ‘sitar’ and ‘tabla’ were introduced to Year 4 and 5 students. The musicians also played different genres of songs like traditional jazz and pop. Western and Indian style of playing the ‘sitar’ were also differentiated.
