Empowering learning and appreciating different cultures: CPS visits SMSS

Twenty Corporation Primary School (Singapore) students accompanied by three teachers visited Seri Mulia Sarjana School on 14 and 15 November 2016.

The objectives of their visit were to enable the pupils to have a local school’s experience and gain insights on the learning, culture and practices in SMSS, and to know more about the school’s Co-Curriculuar programmes.

Team building activities were conducted to foster familiarization and stronger relationship between Singaporean students and SMSS Year 6 students. English Language and MIB lessons, as well as co-curricular activities, were given to let CPS students experience classroom settings in Brunei and learn the different CCA activities of the school.

A food booth was stationed to offer CPS delegates a taste of local delicacies such as ‘ambuyat’ and a variety of ‘kuih’.

The two-day visit was highlighted with performances from the different co-curricular clubs and a special presentation from the CPS students.

Great friendships built amongst the students from both countries and better understanding of mutual respect and appreciation of different cultures were reflected in the festive class party which concluded the said event.
