Patriotism, Culture and Heritage Rolled into One Celebration at SMSS

The first SMSS Free Day brought out the essence of culture, patriotism and rich heritage of the school. All these rolled into one event of three folds; Heritage Wall Launching, 33rd National Day and Chinese New Year Celebration.

Dr. Mary Lim, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sarjana Education Group and Miss Sophia Lim, director, graced the occasion with their presence. The event started with the sealing of the Time Capsule, which is to be opened only on the School’s Golden Jubilee celebration in 2042. The Time Capsule contained the wishes and goals of all senior management, teachers and students for Seri Mulia Sarjana School.

Next, the CEO officially launched the Heritage Wall in conjunction with Seri Mulia Sarjana School’s 25th (Silver Jubilee) Anniversary Celebration. A video tribute to celebrate the School’s Silver Jubilee was also launched on that day. The Heritage Wall and the video are open to be viewed in all sections of the School.

It was then followed by the celebration of Brunei’s 33rd National Day, where students came dressed in their best national costume and showed patriotism by waving the national flag whilst singing to the National Day song entitled ‘Bendera Negara’. Performances to showcase our Bruneian culture and as well as the Chinese New Year celebration, were the highlights of the day.

This first SMSS Free Day was celebrated at all sections, in all campuses over the course of a week.
