A Day at the Airport

K1 students capped the Up and Away unit with a learning experience they would never forget. The Exit Point activity “A Day at the Airport” was literally held at the airport with first-hand experience of what it is like to be in the real-life setting.

The children waved goodbye to their loving parents as they started the journey to the check-in counter and gave their passports for verification. Once given the travel pass, they proceeded to the security check and went inside the immigration area where they were scanned including their things. After passing the security check, real aeroplanes were before their very eyes! They were all so excited to see aeroplanes taking off and landing. The children also got the chance to meet with pilots together with their crew. After that, the children went down to the arrivals area and went through the process once again until the customs check. They also had the opportunity to visit the airport mosque. Throughout the activity, the department of civil aviation team escorted the visit and made sure everyone was safe and had an enjoyable time.
