Silver and Bronze for Sarjanian Writers

Sarjanians’ prowess in essay writing was recently proven as five SMSS primary students bagged major awards in an on the spot online essay competition held on 31st July 2017.

Nur Naqibah Binti Muhammad Nikman Waie and Nur Syafiqah Nazibah Binti Awang from Year 6A achieved the Silver award while Balqis Khairunnisa Binti Saiful Halim from Year 6D, Lyeenah Hamidiah Binti Haji Abdul Hamid from Year 6C and Thien Jia Yun @ Tasha Thien from Year 5D got the Bronze award.

The said online competition used an innovative learning tool called Virtual Collaborative Learning Environment (VCLE), which aimed to provide interesting and exciting learning for students. The competition was created and organised by Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in collaboration with Sekolah Kebangsaan Minden Heights (SKMH) or Minden Heights National School, Penang.

The organisers hoped that the competition could be a venue to promote international understanding among school students and to improve their networking skills and proficiency in the English Language.
