PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

Preparing your child for a future of boundless possibilities

The Preschool section supports key learning areas through holistic enquiry and play-based approaches encompassing all curriculum areas including personal, social and emotional development. In support of the school’s mission to provide 21st century learning among students and to tie up with the SPN21, the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) has been implemented as the official curriculum for preschool. It is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum, with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal goals.

By the end of the curriculum, children will have typically developed KNOWLEDGE and increasing UNDERSTANDING of specific aspects of learning and development and the SKILLS of being able to demonstrate learning and progress in practical ways.

The most significant areas of studies are covered in each unit that has been designed to ensure rigorous learning that makes it exciting, active and meaningful for children. Its learning process includes a whole cycle of engaging activities that covers the following:

Preschool Assessment

Evaluation for Early Years is done every term in all levels through oral and written diagnoses supported by narrative reports with photo and video evidenced records in all areas of learning. These assessments include parents’ involvement and regular report to help both teachers and parents to be aware of the child’s strengths and areas needing improvement. Assessments coupled with regular Parent-Teacher Meetings support student learning effectively, assessing areas such as literacy, numeracy and abilities such as critical thinking and problem solving that will better prepare them in primary level.
