Ayesha Shiloh Lim (Yr 9A) and Allianz Rhys Peña (Yr 11C) emerged as the Champions
for the Year 9 Girls and Year 11 Boys Categories in the recently concluded National
Spelling Bee competition organised by the Department of Co-Curricular Education,
Ministry of Education and supported by the Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) Brunei on
21 st March 2023 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas. This competition was participated in by 17 private and government secondary schools and aimed to celebrate the spelling ability amongst the students and raise the profile of spelling and vocabulary nationwide. The competition had two phases, namely the preliminary round held on 9th of March 2023 on which our school obtained the top spots for Years 9,10 and 11 for Cluster 3 and qualified us for the final phase. ring the last phase, all the finalists from the 6 clusters competed and two Sarjanians triumphed and were awarded with gold medals, certificates and book vouchers. The champions were trained by teachers Toni Therese B. Bernardo and Maridel Lacson.
