Official Handover Ceremony of Coding Devices by AITI and Indah Sejahtera  Development Company to SMSS

Seri Mulia Sarjana School has been chosen as one of the pilot schools for the project: ‘Coding with Smart Devices’ by AITI (Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry) Brunei. The objective of this program is to equip educators and students with the necessary skills on computational thinking and coding using smart devices. Moreover, it also aims to prepare educators to teach the fundamentals of computational thinking in accordance with the devices selected. In May 2020, ten teachers were given a five-day training in coding titled, ‘Train the trainers: Coding with Smart Devices’ by Indah Sejahtera Development & Services Sdn Bhd (ISDS).

As a formal commencement of the program, a momentous handover ceremony of smart devices in the form of Bee-Bots and Micro:Bits to Seri Mulia Sarjana School and Seri Mulia Sarjana International School was held on 29 August 2020. The schools received ten Bee-Bot devices and twenty Micro:Bit devices as handed to the Principals of SMSIS and SMSS by Haji Mohammed Dato Talib, IT Director ISDS, Haji Iskandar Bin Dato Haji Mohammad, Manager of Digital Capacity Outreach AITI and Tajul Ariffin Bin Hj Ali Hassan, AITI. The Business and Technology Department of SMSS Secondary Section will be integrating the Smart devices in Year 8 BAT subject next school year 2021.
