Beginning the month of October is the much-anticipated culmination of each section’s CCA and ECA clubs, including the showcase of skills of students in the preschool section. Every year, the whole Sarjana community looks forward to this prestigious event as it recapitulates everything that the children have learnt and achieved throughout their learning journey.

Not only that, this is also the time to recognise the active involvement and support of parents in the school’s good endeavours. Members of the Volunteer Parents Committee in the K1 level and community helpers involved in school trips and other school-based events were given certificates of appreciation for their ceaseless support of the school’s activities. Gracing the event were teachers from Panaga school who have been very eager to join this celebration and witness our children’s accomplishments. Since 2014, Panaga School has been playing a vital role in guiding us towards the implementation of IEYC in preschool. They have been very generous with their time and resources in equipping our early years teachers with relevant seminars and workshops that will further their understanding of the curriculum.

The whole-day affair was full of zeal; packed with activities both in the morning and afternoon sessions held at the Jerudong Amphitheatre. The ‘IEYC Wow Day’ of the preschool section took place in the morning, with each kindergarten level showcasing talents in speech, singing, and dancing. The K1 level impressed everyone with their ‘Ocean Theatre’ performance which is a medley of speech, song, and dance about wonders of the ocean. Safari animals came to life as the K2 level performed on stage with much grace and exuberance. Astronauts, planets, and aliens of the K3 level gave their best to entertain and educate at the same time with their ‘Blast Off’ performance. Moreover, a glimpse of each level’s learning process of the last IEYC unit of the year was displayed in the learning stations that were also set-up at the venue. Adding more flavor to this grand affair was the ‘Show and Tell’ segment wherein selected students from each level spoke spontaneously and shared what they know about planting, toy-making, and baking.

If truth be told, this is yet again another fruitful celebration of learning of our very own Sarjanians. With this, our humble school has once again realised the mission and vision of providing a holistic, well-balanced quality education for all. Continue to shine, Sarjana!
