Forty enthusiastic Year 6 students embarked on an unforgettable cosmic learning adventure at the Brunei Innovation Lab in Kg. Anggerek Desa, Jalan Berakas. Organised by Future Champ, the immersive experience featured a captivating presentation on orbital dynamics. Students explored the structure of our solar system, the gravitational forces that keep planets in orbit, the effects of solar wind, and the fascinating lifecycle of stars.
Each participant received an activity booklet and tackled quiz questions after every segment, reinforcing their understanding of these core space science concepts.
The highlight of the camp was the signature hands-on challenge: teams of six collaborated to design and build DIY astronaut suits using cardboard, foil, and recycled fabrics. Laughter and lively discussions filled the workshop as students tackled engineering challenges – adjusting helmet supports for comfort, reinforcing joints for flexibility, and customising suit designs to reflect their team spirit.
The grand finale saw our young astronauts proudly done their handcrafted gear and parade before friends and mentors. As cameras flashed and applause echoed, it was clear this engaging session had done more than teach space science – it had sparked creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Our Year 6 innovators returned home not only with new scientific knowledge but with the confidence and inspiration to imagine – and perhaps one day build – the technologies of tomorrow.
