A cool and fresh entry point activity of K1’s new IEYC unit Ocean Treasure brought the children closer to the beach and its sea creatures as they had their very own ‘Beach Party’ in school. With each K1 classroom decorated as a pretend beach, our youngest preschoolers got to do the following activities: catching fish, looking for sea creatures on sand, ice cream craft-making, and making and drinking fresh watermelon juice. A nice storytelling of a book entitled ‘Beach Day’ started the series of fun activities on that day. What made the activity more memorable for everyone was the cool summer and beach attire that they wore especially for that day.
